From the Valley of the Kings to the Shenandoah Valley.
Born in Alexandria, Egypt, I now live with my husband, Allen, on our Virginia farm where we raised our two sons. My work place, Studio Portico, is tucked away in an English styled garden behind our home. It is a perfect setting for my love of vivid colors and painting flowers. It’s also nice place to greet art guests as well as holding small shows.
For years, my passion has been painting in watercolors, primarily flowers and landscapes. In more recent times, I have begun to paint with oils. Thankfully, my many years of training has given me a good foundation for this new medium.
I love painting with more spontaneity and enjoy the bold colorful impressionistic strokes of oil. It is very exciting.
I was fortunate to study at The Art League School in Alexandria, VA and James Madison University. As a member of many community art organizations and a signature member of the Shenandoah Valley Watercolor Society, I have shown in numerous juried and non-juried shows.
My most treasured experience is having had the opportunity to study and surround myself over the years with many amazing and distinguished artists on a local and national level. I believe their support and tutelage has helped me find my voice in painting and is mirrored in my art. I know for sure it is etched forever in my heart.
