I hope your summer has been of good times with friends and family. It's back to the easel for me! I've been playing around a lot this summer. Allen and I drove out west, visited friends and family, enjoyed warm beaches, planted flowers and vegetables, canned....goodness, no wonder I haven't been painting as much. Time to get back in the flow; dusting my studio, preparing canvases, paint and photographing subject matter. Like getting back into an exercise routine, you know you'll feel great after, but sort of dread it. Featured this month are two latest paintings. Mark Twain While purple is the color of royalty, and pink the color of youth, lavender is femininity all grown up. It represents refinement, grace, and elegance. The fragrance of the rose, remains on the hand that gives it. - Unknown I took a risk cutting my long stemmed valentine roses. Whew, I was relieved it worked out and liked it so much in this vase, I painted it. The rich bordeaux red with the touch of light has this elusive feel of burnished gold roses.
