When signing up for Laura's newsletter on her website, you will receive a free download of her first book, "My Grape Year" or you can buy it on Amazon. It was an adorable light read. You also receive some of her favorite French recipes. Well, I tried her authentic French Chocolate Cake recipe on Mother's Day and it was soooo good, moist, rich and EASY to make. It's the bomb! Honestly, I didn't think it would be enough for 6 to 8 people but it was and only 1 tbsp of flour throughout!!! Next time, I will sprinkle some confectioners sugar to make it a little decorative though you don't really need it. Hope you try it!  Luray High School Art Class Field Trip A nice visit by the class at my Studio for an oil painting demonstration with their their teacher extraordinaire, Kayla Koslow. We collaborated painting a sunflower in blue jar, did some sketching outside in the garden and sent them all off with a "Nadia" gift print plus a firm reminder of where to go a few years from now when they buy their new homes and need some original art for their walls :) Seriously, it was my pleasure and inspiration to meet these talented, well mannered young people. I wish them all the brightest future.  It is with pleasure that I announce the Drawing winner of "Velvet Glow" print. The drawing was held at the Spotswood Garden Tour event this past May 1st, in Harrisonburg, VA. Thank you friends for coming out. It was a lovely warm day and very enjoyable meeting the many visitors at the successful Market Place event. The winner is: Carol Yetzer !!! Congratulation Carol! I will be in touch by email or please contact me.  On a sad note, after almost 17 years together, our family lost our sweet and beloved miniature dachshund, "Mitzi".
